The FinderMonkey Weekly - Week 7 FinderMonkey

Welcome to the FinderMonkey weekly newsletter.

We’re going to talk about us today. Usually, we like to talk about you because to be frank, without you trusting us there is no us.

If you’re thinking of using us to find someone you’ve lost touch with then thank you. We know it’s a big decision and at the end of the day, we’re just a website you found on the internet but actually, we’re so much more than that.

We’re a small, dedicated team of professional counsellors, researchers, and intermediaries. Our soul job is to reunite you with the person you’ve lost touch with.

This could be a friend or a family member but either way, we aim to offer the absolute safest (we’ll come back to that word) and most accurate people tracing service in the world. So, from our office which is in Leeds we operate this business, we’re not a Faceless website we’re a team of real actual people.

Our head researcher Dave has done this week’s videos to start to introduce you to the various members of the team here at FinderMonkey and our sister company JNA.

He starts with his own role and how he is involved in the searches which is fascinating. Dave has come up with ways to find people in any country (although most searches are UK based) and with only fragments of information.

He is with Dr Joanna North she is a director of Joanna North Associates but also the Safeguarding and Wellbeing consultant for FinderMonkey.

In simple terms its her job to keep us safe, keep you safe and keep the person that you are looking for safe, (I told you we’d come back to that word.)

You see our service isn’t like some who throw addresses around like confetti because we know this causes all sorts of problems and safeguarding issues. Do you really think it’s right to be able to buy someone’s address and go knock on their door? We don’t and we know why, it can cause huge problems.

Once you have decided to find someone you make that decision because it is the right time in your life to do and you absolutely should do it. Our job is to find your person and then make sure it is the right time for them too and if it is brilliant, if it’s not that’s ok too, we can help and support them so that you get the very best outcome.

We promise this to everyone.

I hope you enjoy the videos and learning more about us and our team.

Any questions or if you want to speak to Dave or Joanna, we’re only ever a phone call away, just try. If its UK hours, we work 9am until 5pm and someone will always answer the phone Monday to Friday on 0113 2825900.

We also have some other really interesting stories from around the world of people tracing so be sure to check those out too but really, I want you to watch the videos and ask yourself if you want these people helping you on your journey to find EXACTLY who you are looking for.

Did you know? Our small, dedicated team has been tracing lost loved ones for more than 12 years. In that time we’ve reunited over 15,000 people – succeeding in locating relatives where the Salvation Army and even Interpol have failed.

We commit to always do everything we can find who you’re looking for – and usually in just under a month!
The FinderMonkey Weekly - Week 7 FinderMonkey

Welcome to the FinderMonkey Weekly. Our weekly deep dive into the world of people tracing.

This week our video comes from our Head Researcher David Oates. David is an expert researcher and a fantastic intermediary.

The video focuses on a new TV series that is now showing on BBC IPlayer. The series focuses on missing siblings. Siblings looking for each other is a very popular service for us. We find that where adoption is involved there can be many cases where siblings have been separated because of the circumstances around the adoption but ofcouse this can also happen where adoption is not involved.

Here at FinderMonkey we have specific searches that you can choose if you are looking for a sibling you have lost touch with or never met. There are many ways to find siblings and then once we have we can make initial contact with them via our intermediary team. This always done with your involvement so you are supported and involved every step of the way.

Often siblings are happy for contact because the separation is not caused by the siblings but by the circumstances. This means we have some really happy outcomes with reuniting siblings. We can’t say for sure how contact will go but we can support you and work with our proven process to get the best possible outcomes.

Also, this week we have been working on a new process within our DNA searches that is proving to be very fruitful. This has meant we have successfully found another 4 fathers via our DNA service. DNA is an important part of our work now when we are looking for family members. Most people use Ancestry to upload their DNA to but we add your DNA to another 5 places too. Many people upload their DNA to Ancestry but then think, now what! We are here to help if you need any support to make sense of your DNA and how you can use it to find people, other than just asking matches what they know.

We’ve also had a really fantastic new review this week. It really shows the power of our DNA searches can do.

Sandie Alcock just left a new 5-star customer review

I contacted Finder Monkey because I had drawn a blank trying to find my grandfather who was a WWII US servicemen. Due to the time that had passed I knew he would not be living but I still wanted to know who he was. Many years ago my grandmother had not only inadvertently given me an incorrect name but location of where he lived in America also. So all my searches had been futile. However FinderMonkey were able to use my mother’s DNA profile on ancestry to trace him. On this journey they have put us in contact with his great nephew who, who was delighted to make contact as he had been building his own family tree.

He is now speaking to HIS father who has memories of my grandfather and photographs. Both myself and my mum and looking forward to the next instalment and reuniting with long lost family. Finder Monkey have been supportive and sensitive and very timely in making this all happen. I am extremely grateful to them for unlocking the past and providing my mum with dad after 78 years of waiting.

Finally, we would always recommend watching programmes that are based on our Industry and the new program on BBC iPlayer is a fascinating look at missing siblings so we hope you find the time to watch that.

If you’re feeling ready to at least talk about your search then we would recommend that you get in touch and have a chat with us. We’d be delighted to hear from you and see if our services are right for you.
