Welcome to the FinderMonkey weekly, our weekly deep dive into the world of people tracing.
We try to cover many subjects as we can on our weekly posts.
We want this to be a place where people can come, have a look around a really find some genuinely helpful advice on your journey to finding answers.
From adoption tracing and finding birth relatives to locating old friends from time gone by. We trace all around the world in our quest to help you reconnect with the person you’re looking for.
The Truth About Forced Adoption
The news has recently talked a lot about forced adoptions and the cause and effect of historical forced adoption on adoptees and their birth families.
We’re lucky enough to work with one of the leading psychotherapists in this field, Dr Joanna North. She is the namesake of our amazing sister company Joanna North Associates. They’re the wonderful team to oversee all of our adoption related searches.
She helped us put together an article on the recent subject of forced adoption, you can find it here: https://findermonkey.co.uk/the-truth-about-forced-adoption

Adult Affected By Adoption Support Group
In light of this Dr North along with our head researcher David Oates now also run and adults affected by adoption support group.
It’s a great place to meet likeminded people and connect with other people who have a shared experience of being affected by adoption. You can join and listen, talk, relate, heal or even just observe. Real people come and share their stories (whatever the outcome) and speak honestly about their feeling.
The group runs every Wednesday at 11am over a Zoom meeting, you can find out more about how it works and how to join here: https://www.joannanorth.co.uk/adoption-support-group/
