What happens when you’ve found my person

Once a search is completed people are often worried. They are worried about how they are going to make contact with the person we have found.

We created our intermediary service to help people through this process. By allowing people to get in touch with their person, in the best way possible.

Some people feel confident to make contact themselves once the search has been completed. However, we always advise that you take great care with this because whilst you may be confident, the person you are making contact with might not be so happy. People are often shocked when they are contacted after such a length of time by somebody they were not expecting to hear from. It’s important to say that you will only get one chance to make that first impression. So getting it right is really important.

Often getting back in touch is a much harder process than people realise, particularly if the circumstances are difficult. However, we believe that approaching the person in the right way will usually lead to a positive outcome. On the other hand, approaching them in the wrong way can ruin any chance of getting what you hoped from the search. Therefore it really important to think about how you are going to approach this next step.

What is the intermediary service?

Our intermediary service is £499 for none adoption related searches.

We start by contacting the person you’re looking for. Once we’ve established contact with them we’ll explain who’s been looking for them and why. To make sure we do this well we’ll contact you to discuss what information you would like us to relay to your person. This is so we represent you in the best way possible.

Our intermediary service is not just about making contact with them. It’s about supporting them through this process as well as supporting you. Our end goal is to ultimately try to get them to have direct contact with you. Hopefully, by the end of the process, we can do it. We don’t put any time limit on it because we don’t want to rush anybody.

There is a possibility that they don’t want to have any direct contact. When that happens we will try and get information from them as to why that is and get any other details you would like to know.

At the end of the intermediary process we can usually put you back in touch with you personally but sometimes people just don’t want contact for reasons of their own. We really care about our clients and we’re here to support you through the process whatever the outcome for you.

If we’ve found someone for you and you would like to proceed with our intermediary service then please contact your researcher via phone or email.
